Hey guys! How’s it going? It’s been a couple days since I’ve posted anything.. my bad. Anyhoo, I figured, since so many other people have done it, I’d do the classic search keyword post. Guess what I discovered? No, guess. Come on! Oh, fine. You’re no fun. I’ll just tell you. I HAVE NOTHING INTERESTING TO POST. Yeah. All the search terms were either titles of ast posts, or variations on the phrase “It’s 3 o’clock in the morning!” One of the variations was “it’s five o’clock in the morning”. What is this? How come everyone else gets the crazy insane keywords, and all I get is exactly what you would expect? Maybe that means I’m getting popular and people are looking for me! Maybe! Yes? No? I didn’t think so either. Phooey.

In other news, I have decided that I want to read Hamster Huey and the Gooey Kablooey. Not the fake one that was probably inspired my Calvin and Hobbes, but the non-existent one that is yet to be written by Bill Waterson.

Also, I made a playlist of awesome songs.

Today is my last day at work

12 June, 2008 (7:54am) | Blog | 6 comments

At least, for a couple weeks. I am taking over my friends online business tomorrow while he and his family fly to the Dominican Republic. Check his blog out at To See The Glory. Anyhoo, I’m not going to be at my regular work for about two weeks. I’m sorta stressing about all the projects I’ve been working on that are still in production.. I can only hope that God will have it all under control. Of course, the upside is that I don’t have to pay attention to all those projects anymore! Woohoo!!

No more late night slurpee runs for me…

So, apparently it’s not good to eat sugar right before going to bed. I guess it disrupts your body’s production of growth hormones, a lack of which can cause all sorts of hellish nightmares. (Not like actual nightmares, but living, waking, breathing, this-is-actually-happening-to-me nightmares.) Who’da thunk it?

I’m Famous!! WOOOOOOOT!!!

So, apparently Rachskirts seems to think I have some sort of writing talent, because she’s letting me do a guest post series on her blog. Check it out, she just posted the first one today! And be sure to subscribe to her blog. She is totally more interesting than I am, for sure. Plus, she has good make out skills, apparently… go figure.

Just you wait, I’ll be famous for real one day!

Lord, thank you for… sparing me?

8 June, 2008 (2:12pm) | Blog | 3 comments

Today, my pastor spoke on 2 Kings 22. He focused mostly on this verse:

“When the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, he tore his robes.”
2 Kings 22:11

It was a pretty good sermon, but there was one part where he was talking about the passage in Luke 18 where the priest says “God, I thank you that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.”

Of course we all look at that and say, “that guy was being so vain! How dare he!” When I realized, I do the same thing. Looking at my life, I have never had any major problems, I’ve never done anything that had irrevocable consequences. So I thank God for that. And rightly so. But shouldn’t I be focusing more on repenting for the ways that I have messed up in addition to thanking God for sparing me certain things? Or should I even be thinking about what I have been spared at all? Who am I to say that I have been spared? My life is just as messed up as any other persons, and I have only myself to blame. What do you guys think?

EDIT: Be sure to check out the comments. inWorship posted a comment that is probably better than my entire post!

Javier vs Depp

2 June, 2008 (10:24am) | Blog | 5 comments

I watched the MTV Movie Awards yesterday. It wasn’t by choice.. I was at a friends house and there was nothing else to do. Needless to say, I was able to guess who got almost every award. For instance, of course Johnny Depp would win best villian.. he’s Johnny Depp! He won everything he was nominated for, and the entire acceptance speech the crowd wouldn’t shut up and let the poor man talk. Anyway, he won best villian. Over Javier Bardem!!! Come on! No Country For Old Men! He was so creepy in that movie! But of course, it isn’t about who really was the best villian, but who America thinks is hottest.

Not that I’m against Johnny Depp. Just that Javier Bardem was a better villian.

Praise God for misunderstandings

This morning, I went to get coffee from the Starbucks across the street from my work. I ordered a Triple Tall Breve Latte.

Now before I continue with my story, let me just say how annoying Starbucks can be.

The word “Latte” is Italian for milk, right? So, a Cafe Latte is espresso and milk. Make sense? And a Cafe Breve has half and half instead of milk. So what is a Breve Latte supposed to be? Milk with half and half? Well, that’s what Starbucks seems to think a Breve is supposed to be called. I always go there and say “I’ll get a tall breve.” To which the response is usually, “Latte”. I learned pretty quick to just humor them and say yes. But for a while I would be like, “No, I don’t want 2% in it, I want half and half. Cafe Breve”. Punks.

Anyway, that’s my rant. Oh blah dee, oh blah da, life goes on.

So, I ordered a “Triple Tall Breve Latte”, but they made me a “Triple Tall Vanilla Latte”. Oops. Needless to say I scored a free drink. I’m lovin’ that.

I like to procrastinate

26 May, 2008 (3:51pm) | Blog | 1 comment

Today is the last day of my uber-long weekend. I had been originally planning on actually accomplishing something important, but as we all know, plans like that never really work. Why does this always happen? I’ve been planning on doing this stuff for months, but every time I get the chance, I find something better to do. Like look at lolcats.

Is there anyone else out there like this that has found a way to motivate yourself to accomplish things?

Automatic Smile Detector

24 May, 2008 (1:37pm) | Blog | No comments

So I discovered the other day that My Sisters camera has a setting on it called “Automatic Smile Detector” or something similar. What happens is you take a picture, but it waits to actually take it until it detects the person smiling. Holy Cow it was the funniest thing in the world. We stood around for hours taking pictures of.. well, mostly just me. It was funny, I’d stand there glaring at the camera, and the really quickly smile like a dork. *click*

Here is a slide show for you enjoyment. Please note that every single expression in there is completely retarded.

The music was written by my best friend and I about three years ago.

P.S. I also found a really cool (and nerdy) usage of the smile detection technology that somebody made. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWlJLjJPqYI

OH NOES!

23 May, 2008 (3:56pm) | Blog | No comments

Normally I work with about 5-7 coworkers on any given day, but lately everyone has been skipping out. One person moved 3 hours away, another had a baby, others are in New York, inexplicably.. and today my last remaining coworker is on vacation. So I am officially all alone at work.

At work alone, actually

It’s kinda weird. I’m used to there being activity and talking going on all day.. but to just sit and code all day with no interruptions… I think I might go nuts.
